Join us as we remember and celebrate the Incarnation through readings and music. The succession of Lessons and Carols' scripture readings began in England in the late 19th century, but the service itself was formalized in 1918 after WWI to help the people heal by remembering, "the wonders of His love" (Isaac Watts, "Joy to the World"). At St. Andrew's, we open with the traditional hymn sung annually at King's College, "Once in Royal David's City," and the story unfolds with a unique combination of choirs, strings, brass, soloists, and congregational singing.
